Sally Ride, America's first woman astronaut and a member of Caltech's Board of Trustees, will host the annual Los Angeles Science Festival. The festival is for girls in grades 5 through 8. Parents and educators are also welcome to attend. The event includes keynote speeches by Sally Ride and Los Angeles Times science columnist K.C. Cole. There will be hands-on creative Discovery Workshops for girls in fields ranging from biology to aerospace engineering, a special adult track for parents and teachers, and a festive street fair full of fun, science exhibits, food, music and a raffle.

Advance registration is $18 ($25 the day of the event) and includes full festival participation, souvenirs, a snack and lunch.
