The concert features Opera Choruses from The Magic Flute, Die Fledermaus, Tannhäuser, and others. Highlights include the beloved favorites "Brindisi" (La Traviata), "March of the Toreadors" (Carmen), and "Va, Piensero" (Nabucco).
Students will perform solo arias, as will guest artist mezzo-soprano Olga Perez. Ms. Perez comes to Caltech fresh from singing Zerlina in Don Giovanni for Houston's Opera in the Heights. Ms. Perez will join the Glee Clubs in several numbers from Carmen, a role she will debut for Amarillo Opera in fall 2007.
A free reception for all will follow the concert.
This concert will also be performed on Saturday, May 19 in Ramo Auditorium.
