As part of its centennial celebration, Pasadena's Polytechnic School is honored to host Dr. Steven B. Sample, president of the University of Southern California, and Caltech's president Dr. Jean-Lou Chameau for a compelling discussion about the changing dynamics in academia and the best ways in which to prepare students to confront the challenges and opportunities that await them in college. Larry Mantle, host of 89.3 KPCC's AirTalk, will moderate the conversation, which will be followed by questions from the audience.

Polytechnic School, located adjacent to Caltech, was founded in 1907 as the first private non-profit elementary school in California. It is descended from the Throop Polytechnic Institute, the same institution which grew to become Caltech.
