Earth: Power of the Planet — Volcano

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:00 PM
Beckman Auditorium
$5 (unreserved seating)

Presented By: Caltech Committee on Institute Programs

Volcanoes have a fearsome reputation. In reality, they are the most important force in the creation of the planet as we know it today. Descending into a lava lake and cave-diving in a cenote, this program shows how the heat that fuels volcanoes also drives some of the most fundamental processes on the planet. [A BBC/National Geographic Channel US/ZDF co-production.]

James Maloney, Co-Director of the Caltech Classroom Connection, will introduce the film and guide the post-screening discussion.

Items on related topics will be on sale by Usborne Books.

This event is made possible through Caltech's participation in the CineMuse Network.

Recommended for ages 8 and up.
