Founded during the United States bicentennial and named for the great poet and philosopher, the Emerson String Quartet has been dubbed "America's greatest quartet" by Time magazine. Its insightful artistry and technical mastery have garnered eight Grammy awards and prompted The Times of London to state that "With musicians like this there must be some hope for humanity." The Quartet returns to Coleman for its eighth performance.
