Old Blind Dogs
Saturday, June 13, 2022 at 8 p.m. PT in Beckman Auditorium
The Old Blind Dogs have existed as a band for 30 years now, and the Pasadena Folk Music Society has been featuring them on their U.S. tours since 2002. They blend traditional music of Scotland with new ideas about how to play those tunes. With Jonny Hardie on fiddle, guitar and vocals; Aaron Jones on bouzouki, guitar and vocals; Ali Hutton on pipes, whistles and vocals; and Donald Hays on various forms of drums and percussion, they are touring with a new CD. The music of that new recording shows the variety in their music, as it brings together traditional and modern music. Even their version of "John Barleycorn" is a modern setting of the Robert Burns version. It's only fitting that they be the act that begins the newest era of the Pasadena Folk Music Society concert series, as we come back together to share the music.
Presented in collaboration with the Pasadena Folk Music Society.
