Behind The Book presents Zev Yaroslavsky and Michael Alvarez in conversation

Behind the Book will present former County Supervisor and author Zev Yaroslavsky, in conversation with Caltech Humanities and Social Sciences Professor Michael Alvarez, discussing the recently published, Zev's Los Angeles: From Boyle Heights to the Halls of Power.

Elected to the Los Angeles City Council when he was only 26 years old, his nearly 40 years as a local elected official made him a critical player in setting policies during much of the most notable years in Los Angeles' growth into the international metropolitan center that is now a leader in business, politics, and culture.

The event, co-sponsored by Caltech's Center for Science, Society and Public Policy, will be presented in Caltech's Beckman Auditorium on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 7:00 PM and recorded for on-demand viewing beginning within 48 hours of the live event.
