Located on Caltech's campus, the exhibition begins at Bechtel Mall on S. Wilson Ave., just north of E. California Blvd. It continues in Linde Laboratory, Gates Annex, Dabney Hall, and the Chen Building.

Spanning one hundred years, it explores the rich imagery in the Caltech's historic collections and compliments it with contemporary artworks. The exhibition unfolds across Caltech's campus in six outdoor and indoor venues. It features scientific drawings, paintings, photographs, films, instruments, molecular models, and rare books from the histories of Caltech and JPL.

Three interconnected thematic sections—The Infinite Lawn in Linde Laboratory, Time Stream in Gates Annex Library, and Powers of Ten in Dabney Hall Lounge—take viewers from the "universe without" (stars, moons, planets, and galaxies) to the "universe within" (cells, genes, molecules, atoms, and subatomic particles). Unique installations by critically-acclaimed artists Lita Albuquerque (on Caltech Hall Pond Bridge), Jane Brucker, Lia Halloran, Shana Mabari (on Bechtel Mall), Hillary Mushkin, and Helen Pashgian (in the Chen Neuroscience Research Building) round out the display.

The exhibition is part of Getty's 2024–2025 program PST ART: Art & Science Collide.
