Flying Karamazov Brothers: Life, A Guide for the Perplexed
Beckman Auditorium
- Public Event
Life, A Guide for the Perplexed, the Flying Karamazovs' newest and perhaps most ambitious show ever, is a spectacle of hilarity and silliness that is bound to tickle your eyes as well as your sides. The show is a series of parables designed to help one survive the modern world. (Of course these are parables as seen through the prism of Karamazovian eyes, so don't expect the unexpected...don't even expect the expected!)
Music is played on traditional and not-so-traditional instruments. Instruments such as a high-tech sonar-driven wireless instrument where movement makes the music or 6 octaves of drum pads arranged on a metal circle that could easily pass for a UFO.
There are silly dances, world class juggling and most importantly... Lots of fun audience participation including The Gamble where Dmitri, as The Champ, juggles any three objects that the audience provides. If he loses he receives a pie in the face - if he wins, he gets a standing ovation.
In The Gamble, The Champ wagers he can juggle three items brought by and chosen by the audience. You are encouraged to bring objects you believe will stump the champ. Here are the rules:
