Baritone James Weaver is a sought-after interpreter of lieder, with "first-class performances, rich in tone, clear, and forceful in diction, powerfully emotive in style" (The Washington Post). He enjoys an active international career, performing with many founding members of the baroque chamber group Capriole.

Pianist Joanne Kong has received critical praise for her "utmost keyboard sensitivity and variety of tone" (Richmond Times-Dispatch), her "remarkable technical ability" (The Oregonian), and her "superb artistry" (San Antonio Express-News).

The performers will present Robert Schumann's Liederkreis and Dichterliebe, two masterpieces of the song cycle literature, to mark the 150th anniversary year of the composer's death.
