Priscilla Herdman
- Public Event
"Priscilla Herdman is one of the clearest and most compelling voices of contemporary folk music."
The New York Times
Priscilla Herdman, who has long been known as a master interpreter of songs by other songwriters, finds outstanding, little-known songs and sings them in her wonderful soprano voice. Since her first landmark album, The Water Lily, in 1976, she has recorded five more solo albums, three family albums, and several fine albums with her friends Anne Hills and Cindy Mangsen.
She hasn't performed in California since 2003, so she's sure to have some new songs at this show. The Philadelphia Inquirer compared her voice to that of Judy Collins, but found that her "overall artistry seems considerably more intimate, personal and, at times, esoteric." Scott Alarik of The Boston Globe wrote, "At the center of her charms is that voice....her voice is miraculously pure and effortlessly beautiful, a voice that immediately draws people in and wins them over." Accompanied only by her guitar, she is sure to light up the night with the sheer beauty of her voice. Now living in Plains, New York, Priscilla's visits to California are far too infrequent, so come and enjoy her while you can.
