Scientists and Artists on Failure

This panel, part of the Opening Doors series by CaltechLive in collaboration with Getty's PST ART: Art & Science Collide, will include Rob Manning, chief engineer, emeritus, and systems engineer at JPL; Julia Greer, the Ruben F. and Donna Mettler Professor of Materials Science, Mechanics, and Medical Engineering and Fletcher Jones Foundation Director of the Kavli Nanoscience Institute; and Herbert Sigüenza, an actor, writer, artist, and co-founder of the performance troupe Culture Clash. The panel will be moderated by writer Matilda Bathurst and will explore how artists and scientists conceptualize failure within their work.
