————————————————————————————————
What are the steps in getting the Mars 2020 rover mission ready to head to Mars, and how do we prepare for operations once we're there? This month's talk will walk through activities leading up to the mission's planned liftoff in July: build, test, transport and launch.
We'll then transition to a primer on how JPL uses Mars analog test facilities on Earth for operating the rovers once they're on the Red Planet. Join us to hear about how we recreate different aspects of the Mars environment and test using stand-ins and "stunt doubles" for our spacecraft.
